Dave Meltzer hands recent WWE/AAA match rare 5.5 stars

WWE has been on a bit of a generational run in recent times and the acquisition and partnership with AAA has only strengthened their stable.

AAA – currently under the guidance of The Undertaker – seems to be going from strength to strength and this past weekend’s AAA TripleMania 34 event was one of the highlight shows of the year.

There were stellar matches across the entire card, with huge pops for El Grande Americano and more as the Mexican crowd got fully invested.

However, one particular match caught the eye of well known journalist and ‘match rater’, Dave Meltzer.

The performances on show at TripleMania 34 were of the highest order.

Every single match on the card across both nights showcased the brilliant athleticism and storytelling that makes wrestling the product it is today.

However, when it came to the fatal fourway match between Ray Fenix, Nathan Frazer, Jack Cartwheel and Mini Vikingo, it stole the show.

Indeed, recognised wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer awarded the match a whopping 5.5 stars, something he rarely does.

It is the second time this year that a AAA match has caught the eye of Meltzer, with the match earlier this year between El Grande Americano and ‘Original’ El Grande Americano getting an even higher 5.75 stars.

It certainly feels like AAA is the star product right now in terms of the actual wrestling on show.

Roman Reigns and Penta ran things close during their amazing clash on Raw. But for pure excitement and athleticism, AAA is the place to be right now.
