David Otunga has joined the list of people to accuse John Cena of stopping the growth of Nexus. The former Nexus member felt Cena had a role in the burial of the PG Era faction, and a documentary on the group was never released. He claimed to have even talked about one of the producers of the documentary, and added that he got good input from them about the product.
Otunga felt the Nexus was never brought back after their first major push. He said Cena had a role in it and a documentary on the group, which was never released, despite being finished.
"Hey, why do you think they never brought the Nexus back? Why do you think they never released the Nexus documentary? John Cena has a lot of pull there. It was completed. And then it ended up like they just finished it," Otunga said in an interview with Muscle Memory.
The former Nexus star claimed to have talked to one of the producers. He said that the entire team that prepared the documentary was fired and let go during the COVID-19 pandemic. He said that the producer claimed the show was very good.
"I talked to the guy, one of the producers, and literally, like the next day or two days later, he got fired. They all got fired. They got let go during COVID. But I just talked to him, and man, this guy was telling me, he was like, 'Yo, the documentary was so good'," Otunga added in the interview.
