DDT King of Kings Storm’s June Showdown Preview

Headlining the show is the KO-D Openweight title match between the reigning champion Chris Brookes and 2025 King of DDT tournament winner Kazusada Higuchi.

Higuchi returned from injury last March at Judgement and quickly made up for lost time, winning King of DDT and earning the right to challenge for DDT’s biggest prize, while Brookes is coming off a successful defense against this year’s D-Generations Cup winner Yuya Koroku last April at Change Age 2025.

Both veterans and leaders of their units, Brookes and Higuchi, clash in the main event. Can Higuchi continue his amazing comeback, or will Chris defeat his strongest challenger on his second reign as champion?

The other title match on hand is for the KO-D Tag Team Championship, as Fuminori Abe and Takuya Nomura take on two of the strongest men on the roster, Yuki Iino and Yukio Naya. Iino’s return match from injury isn’t going to be easy, as he aims to take the tag titles from The Astronauts, who have been defending the belts on different promotions all over Japan.

However, with Naya on his side, the champs will need to be at their best when they face their threat.

In a show filled with tags, two other special ones should capture the fans’ interest. DDT Universal Champion Minoru Suzuki teams with Yuki Ueno to face his next challenger, Shinya Aoki and Yuya Koroku. Suzuki and Aoki will be on opposite sides once again before their title match on July 13 to test each other’s mettle.

MxM makes their DDT debut as Mansoor and Mason Madden go up against Danshoku Dieno and Kazuki Hirata. This will be compelling, as AEW’s most stylish tag team collide with two of DDT’s most beloved wrestlers.

One of DDT’s celebrity roster members is also on deck to wrestle, as Kumadori of the male dance group “O-MENZ” competes in his third match ever, teaming up with HARASHIMA. They will battle Damnation T.A.’s Ilusion and MJ Paul, two-thirds of the current Six-Man tag champions.
