It's normal for modern wrestlers to tweak or even drastically change their gimmick once every few years. The crowd is so influential in a performer's success; as soon as the desired reaction starts to diminish, swift changes often follow.
Dominik Mysterio came in as a face alongside his father, but since his turn in 2022, he has remained largely the same as a slimy, cowardly heel. He generates incredible amounts of heat and seems like a future cornerstone of the company. With the Judgement Day saga likely to wrap up at WrestleMania and Liv Morgan eventually transitioning back to a solo act, would Dom consider a new direction with his persona?
During an exclusive interview with TUDUM, Dom talked about his character's trajectory. "I enjoy being a bad guy," Dom said. "I feel like I have more liberty in what I can do, say, and get away with. I feel like I'm pushing the boundaries a little bit more. So it's just getting to have more fun with them other than being a good guy. I've witnessed that my whole life with my dad. I wanted to do something different with the Mysterio name."

Mysterio has been a dastardly figure for so long that it's impossible to imagine him switching gears. He's such a talented worker and solid on the mic that the fans would likely support whatever he does, but he works far better as one of the most hated men on the roster.
His next evolution should be finding a more serious stable or being a true singles star who doesn't need interference to win every single match.
