Donald Trump issued a statement on Thursday regarding the death of wrestling figure Hulk Hogan.

Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, died Thursday at his home in Clearwater, Fla., at the age of 71. Hogan had supported Trump during his run for the 2024 presidency, which was ultimately successful. That included making a speech at the 2024 Republican National Convention on behalf of Trump, during which Hogan ripped apart his shirt.

“We lost a great friend today, the ‘Hulkster,'” President Trump wrote in his statement. “Hulk Hogan was MAGA all the way — Strong, tough, smart, but with the biggest heart. He gave an absolutely electric speech at the Republican National Convention, that was one of the highlights of the entire week.

“He entertained fans from all over the World, and the cultural impact he had was massive. To his wife, Sky, and family, we give our warmest best wishes and love. Hulk Hogan will be greatly missed!”

In addition to President Trump, Vice President JD Vance shared a statement in support of Hogan following the late wrestler’s death.

“Hulk Hogan was a great American icon. One of the first people I ever truly admired as a kid. The last time I saw him we promised we’d get beers together next time we saw each other. The next time will have to be on the other side, my friend! Rest in peace,” Vance wrote on X.

Hogan is one of the most iconic wrestlers ever. A six-time WWE Champion and member of the WWE Hall of Fame, Hogan remained a brand ambassador for the organization up until his death.
