In the main event of this last Friday night’s WWE SmackDown, Drew McIntyre would go a step too far, leading to his suspension. To close the night, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Aleister Black would go to war to send the fans home happy. Unfortunately, before the match could conclude, things would happen, leading to a no-contest.
As Rhodes was closing in for the kill, McIntyre would Claymore the referee, screaming at the official that they, as well as WWE in general, were against him, most likely referring to his loss at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event XLI.
All hell broke loose as McIntyre and Rhodes would get into it, as well as Black. Outnumbered, Rhodes would get some reprieve as Damian Priest would come to his aid to even the numbers up. When the fight was broken up, McIntyre would get on the mic to air out his grievances, only to get interrupted by SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis. SmackDown’s authority figure would not mince words, effectively suspending Drew McIntyre, and naturally, the “Scottish Psychopath” was irate.
After this monumental turn of events, has WWE SmackDown finally rid itself of Drew McIntyre, or is this just a sign of things to come?
