The most shocking moment at AEW All In was when Adam Cole had to drop his TNT Championship due to injury just hours before the show. That led to a different match with a shock of its own , as Dustin Rhodes became the new TNT Champion. However, this past Thursday at Collision he dropped the title to Kyle Fletcher. This was done for the most unfortunate of reasons, as Dustin's bad knees have finally caught up with him, and he'll be out until next year.
At AEW Collision, the company ran an angle during Dustin Rhodes' TNT Championship defense against Kyle Fletcher. It was a brutal affair, with tables and tacks used, and blood drawn. One spot even saw Fletcher stabbing Dustin's knees with a screwdriver, followed by several chair shots to his leg post-match. In a post on Twitter/X, Rhodes wrote:
Sorry guys, feel like I failed my fans. Gonna be out for a while as Doc said I need a very invasive major surgery. MRI's and cat scans this week, due to Kyle Fletcher. In any case, for the time I was the face of TNT was special to me. I will never take what I have for granted. I am in a terrible amount of pain and have a hole in my leg, but that won't stop me from #KeepSteppin

Dustin Rhodes truly does need serious surgery, but it has nothing to do with his match with Kyle Fletcher, as that was all just a way to write him off TV. According to Fightful Select:
Dustin Rhodes will be missing quite a bit of time.
Dustin Rhodes posted publicly that he's sustained an injury and is told that he will require pretty invasive surgery. He specified that it isn't a work. Those that we spoke to claimed that it was double knee surgery and he isn't expected back until 2026 at the earliest as a result.
At 56, Dustin Rhodes is a wrestling legend, but it's also obvious that his age is catching up with him. Dustin is currently one half of the Ring of Honor Tag Team and Six-Man Tag Teach Champions. It's unknown what will happen to both of those titles.
We at The Sportster wish him the best and hope to see him in the ring again as soon as possible.
