El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. signs with Lucha Libre AAA

Former GHC Heavyweight Champion El Hijo de Wagner Jr. has inked a deal with Lucha Libre AAA. At a press conference on Monday, AAA announced that Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. has signed a contract with the company. Planeta Wrestling reports that it’s a one-year deal that runs through the beginning of February 2026, and the contract allows Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. to still take independent dates in the United States as long as they don’t conflict with his AAA commitments. Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. spent several years mostly competing for Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan before departing the promotion and becoming a free agent near the start of 2025. His final NOAH match happened on January 11. Speaking at today’s press conference, Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. called AAA the best promotion in Mexico. He had been teasing WWE as one of his potential destinations prior to today’s news.
