Elijah makes surprise appearance on WWE NXT

Elijah made his return to WWE on Tuesday.

The former Elias made a surprise appearance on NXT, entering last in a battle royal to determine the next challenger for the NXT Championship. Although fans chanted ‘Elias’, he came out under his TNA name to chants of ‘welcome home’. He asked the crowd if they wanted to walk with Elijah before entering the ring.

Elijah made it far in the battle royal, even going as far as eliminating Trick Williams after he was distracted by Joe Hendry. However, he was then quickly eliminated himself by Shawn Spears. Ultimately Myles Borne emerged as the surprise winner, last eliminating both Spears and Ethan Page to earn a Battleground match against Oba Femi.

Best known for his run in NXT and later WWE, Elijah was a former WWE 24/7 Champion and had spent the latter part of his run masquerading as his brother Ezekiel. He was released from his contract in September of 2023.

In February, he made his TNA debut by saving Hendry from The Colons. In March, he defeated Brian Myers in his debut match on Impact.
