Ethan Page and Ricky Saints vs. Joe Hendry and Myles Borne: What Happened on the 3/10 NXT?

The main event of Vengeance Day last Saturday was Joe Hendry vs. Ricky Saints for the NXT Championship. Hendry was retained due to interference gone wrong. Before the match, Saints begged Ethan Page to be there for him. He helped, but an errant chair toss to Saints led him to lose the match. The call was answered due to Myles Borne helping Hendry two weeks ago, as well as the former beating Page for the NXT North American Championship.

With tensions still high, NXT General Manager Robert Stone made an interesting match. Page and Saints would take on Borne and Hendry in a tag team match. How would they work together, especially after the former’s communication issues on Saturday? Would they be a successful team, or would there continue to be problems between them?

Page and Saints Put Their Issues Behind Them in Win

Coming into the match, Borne and Hendry were the favorites to win as Page and Saints still have unresolved issues. Hendry and Saints started the match, and after dual headlocks, Saints tagged in Page. Hendry delivered a hip lock to both men, then tagged in Borne.

After a kick to Saints, Borne slammed him to the ring, but couldn’t get the pin. From that moment, Page and Saints took control of the match. For several minutes, Hendry was left standing alone as Borne was getting beaten up. He tried to tag in, but Saints pulled him off the mat.

After a DDT to Borne, he finally had enough of doing nothing and broke the pin up himself. But after a Confidence Breaker by Page and a dropkick by Saints, he once again was on the outside. Borne delivered a superplex to Saints, but Page gave him a splash and an unsuccessful pin. Hendry finally entered the match afterwards, delivering a neckbreaker to Page and a fallaway slam to Saints.

Afterwards, an Olympic Slam was applied to Saints, but he kicked out. Page then turned around and grabbed the NXT Championship. He gave it to Saints, once again getting the upper hand on Hendry, but the referee stopped him from using it. While Saints ran the ropes for a spear,

Page tagged himself in. But Saints didn’t realize, leading to more disagreements. Borne kicked him out of the ring, leading to the referee yelling at him. While that happened, Page delivered the Twisted Grin to Hendry, pinning him for the victory. Afterwards, he and Borne stared each other down. He and Saints were able to work together for the victory. But it looks like the problems between the four men are far from over.
