Drew McIntyre prayed for him to win the WWE Championship, and it happened after he beat Cody Rhodes in a Three Stages of Hell match on Friday's SmackDown. The Scottish Warrior has been embroiled in a lengthy feud with Rhodes but was finally given the big win and could hold the title in front of fans.
But McIntyre's win didn't come without controversy as Jacob Fatu made a shock return and first targeted the Scot before turning his attention to Rhodes. This distracted the American Nightmare, and McIntyre capitalized to become a four-time world champion.
McIntyre's win was celebrated by fans in attendance in Berlin, Germany and although he was the heel in that match, he had their support over the babyface Rhodes. But the big twist came when Fatu interfered, and that's what Tommy Dreamer didn't like about the ending to SmackDown's main event.
Dreamer explained why he thinks the finish was weird and could harm Fatu's connection with fans. The ECW legend said on Busted Open Radio:
"I did not like the finish at all, because what does that do for Jacob?' He reveals himself that it's Drew McIntyre who attacked him, and he gets a reaction, and the moment he turned on Cody, (the crowd) starts booing. I'm like, so you don't like Cody throughout the match, but now Jacob - who you like - once he starts beating up Cody, now you're booing him and cheering for the guy he's beating up?"
Fatu was written off TV back in October after he was attacked backstage, although the person responsible has yet to be revealed. It has been suggested that it was McIntyre, as they were about to have a number one contender's match.
Dreamer added:
"I thought the finish came off a little weird, and I just was like, where does this leave Jacob if this is his big return? If he's going to be the guy to face Drew, he just screwed over Cody, so he's not a likeable guy."

McIntyre won the first stage, a singles match, before Rhodes tied proceedings in a falls count anywhere match. But it was the Scottish Warrior who prevailed in a steel cage, falling out of the door while Rhodes was preoccupied with Fatu.
Fatu's return raises plenty of questions about his intentions, since he not only attacked McIntyre but also Rhodes. WWE keeps signalling that the newly-crowned WWE Champion was his attacker back in October.
But regardless of the outcome of that mystery, it's clear that Fatu is better as a heel than a babyface and should return to playing the villainous role. His look and gimmick are a better suit, and a rivalry with Rhodes can help propel him to the main event scene, especially if he were to go over.
Fatu's return could also see him re-ignite the Rhodes and Roman Reigns rivalry as reports suggest they are set to have a third match at WrestleMania 42. It will be interesting to see how they get there now that the American Nightmare has been dethroned.
