Last night's episode of WWE RAW made for compelling viewing, and Finn Balor's promo during an ad break has fans speculating over a potential babyface turn.
The promo didn't air as part of the show but instead was one of the usual cutaway segments WWE use to pass the time. But Balor made the most of the time he was given while speaking to Byron Saxton in the crowd, touching on several subjects while confirming Dominik Mysterio is injured.
Balor explained the frustrations that his group, The Judgment Day, have endured:
"2025 has been a difficult year for The Judgment Day. Let's start with tonight, Raquel Rodriguez was unsuccessful bringing championship gold back to the clubhouse. On top of that, my best friend JD McDonagh is out hurt. And the icing on the cake, I just found out today that Dirty Dominik Mysterio is now out injured indefinitely."
Balor became more upbeat, though, and recalled his past when speaking enthusiastically about the future for him and his stable:
"But it's the holiday season, it's a time for hope, and it got me thinking, got me thinking about my time here in Orlando, got me thinking about my time here in NXT. It got me thinking about how I reached down, how I picked up that brand, how I put it on my back and how I single-handedly carried it into the future."
Balor added:
"Now we all know there's no leaders in The Judgment Day, but I'm gonna do what I've done time and time before. I'm gonna reach down, I'm gonna help out JD, I'm gonna pick up Dominik, I'm gonna put the entire group on my back, and I'm gonna single-handedly carry us all into the future. Because in 2026, Finn Balor is bringing championship gold home to The Judgment Day."

Balor's promo didn't go unnoticed by fans and many were of the opinion that he gave off a face-like demeanour. One wrote on X:
"Babyface promo but Finn Balor The Prince is coming back let's go!"
Another added:
"Finn Balor face turn + world champion ( I am crazy )."
One said:
"Omg Face Finn Balor Is Coming Back To Me."
Another noticed Balor take in the support from the crowd:
"Thinking about the slight smile on Finn Balor's face when he heard those cheers, bring back good guy Finn immediately."
One wrote:
"Am I high or was that Finn Balor promo felt very babyface-ish?"
It was a fiery promo from Balor, who hasn't won a singles title since holding the United States Championship in 2022. The Irish star's only run as a world champion came back in 2016 when he won the Universal Championship, but was forced to relinquish it the night after due to a shoulder injury.
Balor is now in his 11th year with WWE and is a veteran at 44, but for many, he still has to fulfil his potential as a world-champion-calibre star. He has been a workhorse who has played both a face and a heel over the years, but his run with The Judgment Day has seen him operate more as a team player than a solo star.
Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh's injuries mean he is currently the only male member of the faction able to compete. This could mean WWE will hand him the push he was reportedly expected to receive this year.
WrestleVotes reported in December 2024 that Balor was set for a "renewed singles push" in 2025 but this didn't occur. He instead spent most of it teaming with McDonagh and holding the World Tag Team Championships.
Balor's promo could indicate a new direction and that a face turn might be on the cards. But his role in The Judgment Day will play an important role as they remain a heel group and perhaps the ideal way to go about a character transformation is for him to leave and feud with Intercontinental Champion Dom when he returns.
