Mariah May has been one of the biggest AEW stars since debuting in the company. However, it appears that her contract is expiring and she is not returning to the company and instead, heading to the WWE. This has a lot of implications so let’s take a deeper dive into what this means.
The competition between AEW and WWE is nothing that has not been happening over the previous five years, but it appears that Mariah May is heading to WWE. PWInsider reported that she was removed from the company’s website on Friday afternoon and is free to head to WWE.
There is no word of when her contract officially ends with All Elite Wrestling, but she was under a two-year contract and surprisingly had no option years included. She has not wrestled since losing in the “Hollywood Ending” match against Toni Storm at AEW Revolution 2025.
Fightful Select confirmed the report and added there have been no substantial creative plans for her since the match and most in the company have expected her to leave for WWE.
Mariah May’s management has claimed that her deal has not officially ended and WWE sources also have claimed no contract has been signed.
With WWE announcing the all-women’s Premium Live Event Evolution taking place on July 13, this is likely her debut, but that is just speculation at this point. It also has not been added if she will be joining the NXT roster or immediately be elevated to either RAW or Smackdown.
The likelihood is that May will debut on NXT after Stephanie Vaquer, Jordynn Grace, and Gulia are all being called up to the main roster. The WWE Women’s division is about to get even deeper with the addition of May.
