Since making her AEW debut in 2021, Willow Nightingale has developed into one of the top stars of the company's women's division. She won the Owen Hart Cup in 2023 and followed that up with the TBS Women's Championship in April 2024.
Nightingale is a key part of AEW's women's roster and a growing fan favorite. She's one of the most likable talents within all of the company's programming and has earned her spot on the main roster, where she's currently involved in some of the biggest storylines within the company.
Fortunately for AEW fans, it would appear that Nightingale has signed a new long-term deal with the company. Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp previously reported the deal on May 15. However, in a recent interview with Tom Valentino of "The News Herald," Nightingale confirmed her contractual status and shared her reasons for re-signing with the company.
"The idea of entertaining free agency didn’t even really cross my mind," Nightingale said. "I mean, obviously, the thought was there because it’s a business at the end of the day, but I am so happy where I am, and I feel like my work here is so far from done. And the things that I love about wrestling the most are afforded to me here. I do get to travel and see the world, wrestle other places, wrestle other people. But, also, I get to be a part of our locker room."
Nightingale's future in AEW looks bright. She will undoubtedly have more runs in the women's title race in the future and could potentially become one of the leading stars in the division.
By committing to a new multi-year deal, Nightingale is putting her trust in Tony Khan and AEW's continued growth. If everything goes according to plan, that decision could pay huge dividends for Nightingale and her long-term career.
