Former WWE Champion lands role on new Peacock sitcom produced by WWE president Nick Khan’s sister amidst bleak chances of in-ring return

Amid uncertainty over the future of his in-ring career, Big E has seemingly shifted focus to acting. The former WWE Champion will be guest-starring in the Peacock comedy series ‘Laid’. Interestingly, the project is written and executive produced by WWE president Nick Khan‘s sister, Nahnatchka Khan. She has previously worked on ‘Young Rock’, the sitcom based on none other than Dwayne Johnson.

According to Deadline, ‘Laid’ is a “f*cked up” rom-com. Having said that, there is currently no clarification in regards to Big E’s role in the series. The beloved WWE star has been out of in-ring action since March 2022, suffering a life-threatening neck injury. Unfortunately, The New Day member has since not been able to provide a positive update about the possibility of a return.

Despite that, Big E has continuously appeared on several PLE shows and WWE-related programming. In his recent update, the 38-year-old said that while he may never be cleared, he was happy to be pain-free. Later, he shared a heartwarming update about his personal life, revealing that he is dating fellow WWE star Mia Yim‘s sister.

It goes without saying that the WWE Universe immensely misses the presence of Big E on their screens. As for his role in the Peacock romcom, it will be interesting to see if the Tampa-born star pursues an acting career.

Big E pitched the idea of third member joining A-Town Down Under on SmackDown

The team of Austin Theory and Grayson Waller, A-Town Down Under, achieved success at WrestleMania XL. The arrogant heels became the new WWE Tag Team Champions in a six-pack ladder match. After their win, Big E suggested that a third member should join the duo moving forward.

Speaking on WWE’s The Bump, the former WWE Champion pitched the idea of Baron Corbin allying with Theory and Waller. According to Big E, the SmackDown star is someone who would fit in with the championships.

In response, the Aussie claimed that they would contemplate the idea if the Lone Wolf joined the blue brand. Now that Corbin’s a part of Friday nights and has been separated from Bron Breakker, who’s on Raw, Theory and Waller may approach the former NXT star. Hence, only time will tell whether the 39-year-old does join forces with A-Town Down Under.
