All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has added another exhilarating talent to its already-deep roster – Kevin Knight. A young rising star with a strong foundation in NJPW and already boasting an impressive resume, Knight is primed to make waves in AEW.
Here is everything you need to know about AEW’s newest sensation.
Born on January 1, 1997, in Atlanta, Georgia, Kevin Knight has already made major moves in the wrestling industry at age 28. Knight made his professional wrestling debut in August 2019.
For the next two years, Knight would appear at various American and Canadian independent and regional promotions. During that time, he gained valuable in-ring experience, but his career was about to be taken to the next level.
In 2020, at the height of the global pandemic, Knight joined New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s (NJPW) LA Dojo, which has produced some elite-level wrestlers. There, he trained under the guidance and tutelage of the highly respected NJPW veteran Katsuyori Shibata. At the LA Dojo, Knight received his new title as an NJPW Young Lion.
A massive opportunity soon presented itself for Knight, and he was ready. Though initially not part of the 2020 Super J-Cup, Knight became a last-minute addition to a tag team match following an injury. This marked Knight’s first major exposure within NJPW.
Between 2021 and 2022, Knight would compete on NJPW’s American-based Strong cards. Knight would even get to participate in an eight-man tag team match on the inaugural AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door Buy-In show. He soon got the chance to showcase his talents in Japan.
In November 2022, Knight made his debut in Japan for NJPW. There, it was announced that Knight would team up with KUSHIDA for that year’s Super Junior Tag League. During that tournament, Knight traded the traditional Young Lions black trunks and opted for bright orange gear, thus graduating as a Young Lion.
Despite not winning the tournament, Knight and KUSHIDA continued to team together. Together, the pair would appear in NJPW and TNA Wrestling (then Impact Wrestling). They soon began to team under the name ‘Intergalactic Jet Setters’.
In April 2023, the Intergalactic Jet Setters would win their first title together – the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships. This also marked Knight’s first major wrestling championship. In addition to his tag team run with KUSHIDA, Knight got to participate in the 2023 Best of the Super Juniors tournament.
While primarily competing for NJPW, Knight kept a busy schedule, appearing in various promotions worldwide. He made stops in promotions such as Major League Wrestling (MLW), DEFY Wrestling, Game Changer Wrestling (GCW), ASE Wrestling, and Ring of Honor (ROH).
Most notably, Knight had an extended stint with TNA Wrestling. Here, he broadened his reach and showcased his versatility in both singles and tag team competition.
Knight made his first AEW appearances in 2022, where he was involved in some tag team matches with other NJPW LA Dojo stablemates. In January 2023, Knight appeared on an episode of Dynamite, when they accompanied KUSHIDA to the ring for his TNT Championship against Darby Allin.
Knight’s biggest AEW moment came on the March 29, 2025 episode of AEW Collision, where he faced Jay White in a hard-fought singles debut. Although he came up short, his performance caught the attention of AEW President Tony Khan. He was immediately signed to the promotion following the match.
At just 28 years old, Kevin Knight is a young, innovative, and dynamic competitor with a wealth of experience across multiple top-tier promotions. Whether in singles action or tag team competition, his high-energy offense and undeniable charisma make him quite the addition to AEW’s growing roster.
Wrestling fans should expect big things from ‘The Jet’ as he takes flight in AEW!
Congratulations, it’s official!
