Drew McIntyre has been in America's biggest pro wrestling company, WWE, for 15 years and still can't understand one thing about Americans.
The Scottish Warrior is in his eighth year of a second spell with the promotion and has proven to be a major success, becoming WWE Champion. He has also been a troll on social media, riling up fans and longtime rival CM Punk with his British sense of humour.
McIntyre's X (Twitter) account is full of mischief as he pokes fun at his opponents during rivalries. He took a selfie of himself during a Street Fight against Damian Priest at WrestleMania 41 and captioned it:
"Still bored at work lol."

Punk has been the biggest victim of McIntyre's online trolling such as when he posted two emojis including a clown to insult the Best in the World. He wrote:
"I have my own emoji, #DrewMcIntyre So does #CMPunk."

While McIntyre's comedy is usually a hit with his followers, he has suggested he can offend others. He said while speaking to The West Australian's Craig O'Donoghue to promote WWE's return to Australia later this year:
"People get offended so easily in America. I run my mouth nonstop. Everyone over here is like, ‘OMG, it’s so offensive.’ I’m like, ‘Shut up, mate. Get a grip on yourself."
McIntyre is now one of the locker room leaders in WWE and at 40 years of age has over a decade of experience in the squared circle. That doesn't mean the Scot doesn't like getting up to tomfoolery and he even pranked his former boss.
Teasing Vince McMahon was almost forbidden during his tenure as WWE chairman, just ask Titus O'Neil, who found out the hard way. But making a name for yourself is vital if you're going to make it in pro wrestling, and McIntyre looked to do that while in developmental brand FCW.
McIntyre was shown an old video of himself cutting a promo in front of WWE higher-ups, including McMahon. He explained how this came to fruition during an interview with Stone Cold Steve Austin during an episode of Broken Skull Sessions in December 2020 (via his X account):
"I think that was promo class, I believe back in the day. Vince used to take promo class with a select group of young talent on RAW and SmackDown, and I was fortunate to be a part of the group on SmackDown. He would give us these lessons, and I'm going to give a free one out here right now – a promo is a match, a match is a promo, you gotta think of them the same way. And that's all I'm gonna say because what happened in there, stays in there."
McIntyre ended his promo by telling the group that "you need a big finish", but this had McMahon ducking for cover:
"At the end of every class he would give us a minute to cut a promo on a random topic he would pick, and we had to apply the lessons we learned in promo class. So, you always need, of course, a big finish, and I think I was struggling for a big finish, and I reached down for that water bottle, and I decided to pretend to throw it at the boss, and he flinched. He never flinches."
McIntyre's big finish came at WrestleMania 37 when he defeated Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Championship. But this didn't take place in front of fans due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a topic he's not afraid to bring up to point out how he deserved better.
The former NXT World Champion does look set to challenge Cody Rhodes for the world title, perhaps at Clash in Paris on August 31. He had his sights set on the gold after taking the champion out to close this week's episode of SmackDown.
