On Wednesday, April 25th, it was announced via AEW’s social media accounts that Grizzled Young Veterans will be making their debuts on the 4/27 episode of AEW Collision. The pair called out The Acclaimed in a short promo, which seems to have all but confirmed their first AEW feud.

For those unfamiliar, James Drake and Zack Gibson have been teaming together since 2017, when they successfully defeated CCK to become the Progress Tag Team Champions. The duo have won numerous titles over their seven-year tenure, most notably becoming the inaugural NXT UK Tag Team Champions.
Their recent work in promotions like TNA, RevPro and DPW has showcased the level of hard work that the two put into their craft. If you aren’t already a fan of Grizzled Young Vets, I’d recommend you check out some of their work on the independent scene before they debut on AEW Collision this weekend.
It’s been a busy week for the Grizzled Young Vets, as they also announced on 4/25 that their own promotion will be launched on 6/21. Burning Heart Wrestling will be “led by a committee of international wrestlers” and the first show will emanate from Liverpool, England.

The pair have taken the independent wrestling scene by storm since leaving WWE in late 2023 and it’ll be exciting to see what’s next in store for GYV.
