If anything, Hulk Hogan will be remembered not only for his historic matches but also for his outspokenness — especially later when it came to politics. Hogan passed away on July 24 from a heart attack at the age of 71 , and since then, his friend and manager, Jimmy Hart, has been making rounds on podcasts to give his insight on the final days of the WWE Hall of Famer. Not only that, Hart has opened up about Hogan’s final WWE appearance, which was on January 6, 2025 — the debut of WWE RAW on Netflix.

Jimmy Hart Says Hulk Hogan Was Devastated

Fans who watched the episode that night or even clips online were not oblivious to the fact that the crowd was not happy with Hogan. While speaking on the Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw podcast, Hart attributed it to the event’s location — Los Angeles — and the late icon’s endorsement of President Donald Trump.

“I’m just waving the heck out of it. So we go out, we kind of get a mixed reaction, and you know this, you can have 500 people cheering you and one person booing you, but I’ll be darned if that one person outshines the dag-on 500 cheering for you. You know how that works, right? So we go out, so it’s kind of a mixed reaction, but it’s a little bit more boos than anything. But that devastated him and we got in the back, he said, ‘What do you think happened?’ I said, ‘Hulk, it’s simple. Blue state, red state. Trump-Vance.’” (H/T Fightful)

Granted, fans have for decades booed wrestlers because of their political views and their stance (whether it be real or fake) on world issues. The ‘80s were a good example of that due to the anti-Russian sentiment because of what was going on in the world at the time — the Cold War.

Jimmy Hart Wasn’t Bothered By It

It’s not exactly shocking that Jimmy Hart wasn’t bothered by the crowd’s reaction because, as he said in the interview, he managed “The Hart Foundation against The British Bulldogs.” It's easy to admit that the Mouth of the South was good at what he did. He knew when to play against and with the crowd.

“ I said, ‘I’m okay with it.’ He goes, ‘What are you thinking?’ And I said, ‘I’m okay. I felt like I was managing The Hart Foundation against The British Bulldogs or the Killer Bees…’ But that bothered him because of that and I said, ‘Well, surely people are gonna realize what that was for.’ Then the next week, we’re in Texas and it’s all cheers. But, that always bothered him. It sure did.”

In true wrestling, Hart did share his political opinion in the interview with Bradshaw and Brisco, and it’s kind of a hilarious response. The Mouth of the South is neither a republican nor a democrat, but as he stated, just “a jaboroni.”
