Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan remains one of the biggest figures in the industry. A few months after the first anniversary of his passing, Hogan continues to make history. Following a memorable career that included stints with the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), New Japan Pro Wrestling and when he became a legend of the business, the WWF/WWE and the WCW, Hogan left a huge mark on every fan who watched him.
He was a central figure in the first WrestleMania events that changed the entire industry. Hogan, born as Terry Bollea, participated in WrestleMania I at Madison Square Garden on March 31, 1985. He teamed up with Mr. T to defeat “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff in the main event.
Nearly 41 years after that moment, Hogan’s gear from that match broke a record in the wrestling world. Heritage Auctions sold Hogan’s match-worn boots from that WrestleMania for a whopping price.
Jeremy Padawer took to X on Sunday to inform that the first-ever million-dollar wrestling collective belonged to Hogan. The boots he used during the iconic, industry-altering match sold for $1,037,000 on Heritage Auctions.
The auctioneer didn’t spare resources to demonstrate that the boots were authentic. Hogan’s inscription can be seen.
“These are my real boots with my real blood on them from MSG, Hulk Hogan.”
Photo-match verification and full PSA/DNA documentation were used to confirm the boots were authentic. This sell comes after a boot from Hogan’s match at WrestleMania 18 sold for $146,400.
The million-dollar threshold was officially crossed, with Hogan again leading the way.
