WWE fans might be seeing the return of an injured "Monday Night Raw" star in the near future.
The wrestling business can be unforgiving when it comes to injuries. A clear example of this was on display recently, as Rey Mysterio had been scheduled for a match with El Grande Americano on the "WrestleMania 41" card. Mysterio tore his abductor just one night prior to the event, and he was not medically cleared to perform.
While Mysterio's return status is unknown at this time, there is another injured star who appears to be on the verge of a comeback. WrestleVotes reports that Kiana James is expected to return to WWE TV soon. James has been off TV for several months due to a reported leg injury.
During her time on WWE TV, James was involved in segments with "Monday Night Raw" general manager Adam Pearce. Some believed WWE was teasing James becoming Pearce's assistant. It was noted in the report that WWE officials are impressed by James' in-ring abilities, so it's unknown if they will continue previous creative plans for her.
WWE is said to be "very high" on James' potential. James showed flashes of her abilities early on in her career. She even performed on "AEW Dark" in 2021. The following year, James signed a "WWE NXT" contract. She was called up to the main roster after being drafted on the April 26, 2024 episode of "WWE Raw."
James hasn't been in the ring since the June 17, 2024 episode of "Monday Night Raw." She took on Iyo Sky and Zelina Vega in a triple threat "Money in the Bank" qualifier. Sky ultimately won the match.
