  • Jacob Fatu is set to return to WWE television imminently.
  • He's been wrestling off-TV; last taped win: defeated Rusev in a Street Fight on Sept 19.
  • Fans want him back; many push for a heel turn and fresh rivalries, not a Solo repeat.

For those who miss WWE SmackDown star Jacob Fatu, there is some good news regarding when he’s returning to the WWE ring. An update on Fatu was shared in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter from Dave Meltzer.

Jacob Fatu Will Return Very Soon

According to Meltzer, Fatu is expected to return “imminently.” The last time that Fatu was on television was the August 15 episode of SmackDown, where he, Jimmy Uso, and Sami Zayn defeated JC Mateo, Solo Sikoa, and Tonga Loa.

Fatu has still been wrestling, though it’s been non-televised matches. His last one was on the September 19 edition of SmackDown, where he defeated Rusev in a Street Fight match. Not sure why WWE wouldn’t want to air the match between two heavyweights.

The last PLE match he was in was at SummerSlam, where he lost to Solo Sikoa in a Steel Cage match. The WWE United States Title was on the line, which Sikoa had retained. Sikoa would eventually lose the title to Sami Zayn just a few days before the Clash in Paris PLE. Fatu had been in a feud with Sikoa since he betrayed Sikoa at the June 2025 Money in the Bank PLE. Their relationship started to show cracks in February.

Fans React To Jacob Fatu Not Being On WWE TV

Fans have noticed that the Samoan Werewolf has been missing on WWE TV and have taken to social media to share their thoughts. This isn’t the first time, though. Earlier this month, fans expressed that his hype had faded. One fan wrote:

“Never seen a wrestler fumbled this bad.”

While another said:

“Thank god. Smackdown badly needs him back.”

WWE fans also want to see him become a heel again. A fan tweeted:

“Please come back as a heel bud! Being a babyface is not for you!”

Another agreed, writing:

“Bring him as a heel, as a face he is ridiculous and has lost all the aura he had!”

One fan also gave a booking idea to WWE for the Survivor Series: War Games PLE. They wrote:

“Align him with Roman Reigns in the WarGames against The Vision!”

Some fans also hope that his feud with Sikoa is over. One fan expressed their feelings about it:

“To face Solo again? I hope not give him something new.”

Hopefully, he returns to television, and fans can remember why he’s the next big thing in WWE. Maybe he will return during this Friday’s (September 26) episode of SmackDown and answer Sami Zayn’s United States Championship Open Challenge.
