Jey Uso Fires Back at Fan Criticism Accusing Him of Just Being an ‘Entrance’ Lacking Skills to Back it Up

Uso said he hasn’t really changed a bit when it comes to having fun with the crowds weekly. The San Francisco native emphasized how the encores of his entrance are still holding up without the fans getting sick of it. However, the only change that he has made to his mindset kicks in once the bell rings.

I’m tired of like people saying I’m just I’m just an entrance or whatever. It was like, ‘I ain’t got skills to hold it down up top, man. So I just, I just switched modes.’ I mean, it might be going back to the old ways thinking, you know, Bloodline ways, but man, that kind of mentality got the job done.

The son of Rikishi iterated that he’s focused on making that transition from a crowd-pleasing fan favorite to a somber and voracious combatant who’s just willing to risk it all for getting to the top of the food chain in WWE. Uso noted that there are a number of heavy hitters ahead of him, and he can’t phone it in to outshine names like CM Punk, Gunther, and Seth Rollins, to name a few.

‘The Yeet Master’ revealed being tired of listening to claims of him being someone who just coasts off his fan-engaging entrance to elicit crowd reactions that he does. The former ‘Right Hand Man’ admitted that his current demeanor might draw comparisons to what he was like during the Bloodline’s heyday. However, Uso added that the same mentality never let him down back then.

Having stayed on amicable terms with CM Punk for the better part of the time he spent since returning to WWE, Jey Uso no longer holds that sentiment. The 40-year-old turned on the Chicago native ahead of Clash in Paris, and they have since been at loggerheads. The two of them came face-to-face on this week’s Raw.

Having kicked off the show, the ‘Master of Yeet’ got it off his chest that a lot of people have been in his ears of late, including his cousin Roman Reigns and elder brother, Jimmy Uso. Jey affirmed that he’s decided to cut that noise and instead focus on the task ahead of him at Saturday Night’s Main Event. It didn’t take long for Punk to interrupt him.

Not only did the 47-year-old cut Uso off on the mic, but he also mocked the Anoa’i family wrestler by staging an encore of his ‘Cult of Personality’ entrance. The former AEW star defended Jey for eliminating Jimmy from the Battle Royal, as it depicted that the ‘Yeet Master’ was willing to go for broke.

‘The Second City Saint’ also said that tossing ‘Big Jim’ over the top rope was by the book and there was nothing underhanded about that.

Having addressed it briefly, Punk turned his attention to seeking the mental resolve of his opponent as to how badly he wants the world title. Because for Punk, he needs it just as much as a breath of fresh air.

‘The Cookie Master’ is still fresh from the wounds that Seth Rollins gave him by cashing in at SummerSlam. Confident about emerging victorious this weekend, Punk asked Uso what he’d do after being laid out and realizing that he wouldn’t be able to “yeet his way out of it.”

‘Main Event Jey’ hit back at the ‘Best in the World’ by asserting that he’s been in deep waters before and knew how to swim. Uso slammed the ‘Straight Edge Superstar’ for painting him as the bad guy in this situation and went on to utter with disdain, “Screw you, Punk.”
