Jey Uso may have teased a heel turn is on the way after losing to CM Punk at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event on October 1st. The former World Heavyweight Champion failed to reclaim the title in the main event at Delta Center in Salt Lake City.
Jey has been wrestling with himself as of late amid his involvement in a new Bloodline saga in which Roman Reigns has urged him to focus on himself. He won a battle royal to book his place at SNME, throwing out his twin brother Jimmy in the process.
The 40-year-old's battle royal victory didn't sit too well with fans, who ensured the YouTube video of his win received more dislikes than likes. But many also felt LA Knight was the better choice to face Punk, given that Punk has lacked world title opportunities.
Jey came up short on Saturday night in a lengthy match that had some nice spots but also glaring botches that didn't go unnoticed by fans. While Punk celebrated his victory, his fallen opponent sat outside the ring staring up during the title celebrations.
He took to Instagram after SNME to send a message to fans:
“Yall win (middle finger)."

Fan footage of the aftermath of the title match also saw Jey looking frustrated:

Jey has been showing signs of a possible villain arc in recent weeks, and this may trigger his turn, especially given his response to fans. He was one of WWE's top babyfaces earlier this year, winning the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41.
A potential Jey heel run could be a clever direction for him on the Road to WrestleMania 42, where it seems unlikely he'll be back in the world title picture again. He beat Gunther at the Show of Shows earlier this year, but last night could be his last crack at the gold for quite some time.
The best storyline for Jey to begin —or rather continue —is to build on the Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso drama, have him eventually reach the boiling point, and become as manipulative as Reigns during his Head of the Table era.
Another possibility is that WWE pull the trigger early and uses the upcoming Survivor Series WarGames match. He could join The Vision due to his past connection with Paul Heyman, whether that be ahead of the PLE or on the night in a big twist at the end.
CM Punk will need challengers for his world title, which means you can't rule out WWE possibly continuing with him eyeing the title as a heel. That might not be a popular choice, though, as many will feel Knight is now worthy of being the number one contender.
