  • TNA–WWE partnership fuels crossovers: NXT vs TNA Showdown and Bound For Glory with NXT stars.

TNA President Carlos Silva has given an insight into Joe Hendry’s current status with the company. Silva was recently a guest on the Battleground Podcast, and that was when he was asked about Hendry.

Carlos Silva Says Joe Hendry Is Still A TNA Guy

During the interview, the TNA President was asked if Hendry was still a TNA guy, due to reports and rumors that Hendry was going to be with WWE full-time. He said:

“Yes, he is. You know, he is until he’s not. But he is.Joe’s been great for us. Joe’s been great with WWE and NXT. We’ll continue to sort of work through that as good partners do.” (h/t: WrestlePurists)

Joe Hendry has been pulling double duty with both promotions for a while now. Recently, on September 26 at TNA Victory Road, he defeated Eric Young. Three days before, on the September 23 episode of WWE NXT, Hendry joined Chase U’s Kale Dixon and Uriah Connors in a match against DarkState’s Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin, and Saquon Shugars. Hendry made his WWE NXT debut on June 18, 2024.

Though WWE hasn’t just used the TNA star for NXT, he’s made appearances at this year’s Royal Rumble. He was the first TNA World Champion to enter the Royal Rumble. Hendry was also part of WrestleMania 41, where he faced future WWE Hall of Famer Randy Orton. It was an open challenge match.

There’s no doubt that Hendry is one of the most popular wrestlers in the business at the moment. People love to say his name just to see him appear.

TNA and WWE’s Partnership

WWE NXT TNA

TNA and WWE have officially been in a partnership since January 2025. Next week, on the October 7 episode of NXT, the two promotions go to battle in the Showdown TV special. At the moment, Hendry has yet to be announced for the event. Though there is no doubt that Hendry will be close by to help whoever needs it.

Later this month, TNA is having its biggest pay-per-view of the year, Bound For Glory, and not surprisingly, the event will feature NXT Superstars too. The TNA World Champion at the moment is WWE NXT Superstar Trick Williams. He will be defending the title against TNA star Mike Santana. Also, the TNA X-Division Championship Match will see the champion Leon Slater defend against NXT star Je’Von Evans. So, overall, the partnership between the two promotions has been an interesting one. It’s fun to see the stars go back and forth between the two companies.
