John Cena Warns Dominik Mysterio About 'All of The Mistakes About To Happen With Him'
John Cena leaving WWE Raw

John Cena has waxed lyrical about Dominik Mysterio ahead of their Survivor Series match but advised his opponent to ready himself for "mistakes which are about to happen" as he continues to grow as a top WWE star. Dirty Dom will challenge Cena for the Intercontinental Championship in San Diego, California, next Saturday (November 29th).

"I can see all of the mistakes" - John Cena Warns Dominik Mysterio

The pair opened RAW on Monday night (November 17th) and exchanged words after Cena had defeated Dom last week and taken the IC title. The Judgment Day member requested his rematch at Survivor Series in his hometown of San Diego, and the 17-time world champion accepted.

Cena then teamed with Dom's father, Rey Mysterio, and Sheamus and defeated the 28-year-old Finn Balor and JD McDonagh in the 48-year-old's final ever RAW match. Cena then spoke on RAW Recap about the similarities he sees between himself and his current rival:

"I'm incredibly grateful to get in there with Dom Mysterio, who I respect and admire. He reminds me a lot of me, and he reminds me of a lot of the mistakes I've made."

Cena is wary of Dom experiencing setbacks which he predicts are soon to arrive:

"I can see all of the mistakes which are about to happen with him, and I want to shake him and be like 'you're going to do this', but I want him to learn for himself.

Cena concluded:

"But he is authentic, he's reliable, he works hard and is passionate about the business, he'll learn, he'll figure the rest out."

Dom is identified as one of the younger members of the WWE roster who many feel will main event WrestleMania PLEs for years to come in the post-Cena era. His IC title reign earned major plaudits after he won the gold at WrestleMania 41 in April.

But the heights of being a top WWE superstar come with lows, which Cena knows all about, having dealt with fan backlash, injury troubles and initial struggles getting over. Dom experienced the latter at times when performing the role of Rey Mysterio's son, who desperately needed a character refresh, which came through a heel turn and joining The Judgment Day.

WWE Should Add Stipulation To Cena-Dom Rematch

WWE have confirmed that Cena will defend the Intercontinental Championship against Dom at Survivor Series next Saturday. There were reports suggesting that the legendary WWE star would be involved in the WarGames match between 'Team CM Punk' and 'Team Vision', but he will instead be putting his title on the line in San Diego.

The rematch is intriguing, given that many will envision Cena going over so that he can defend the title in his final match at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13th. But another loss for Dom might not be the best way to handle the Judgment Day member heading into the new year.

Adding a stipulation such as no disqualification or falls count anywhere that keeps Dom strong in defeat is the way to go, and that could include Mysterio family drama. Cena could pick up the victory courtesy of Rey Mysterio's involvement to extend their rivalry ahead of the Road to WrestleMania 42.
