The news was revealed by TNT & TBS president Jason Sarlanis in a keynote presentation this past Monday at the Realscreen Summit in Miami, Florida, noting “a few more episodes” will still air. A quote from Sarlanis indicated that costs for shows like Wipeout and the also-canceled The Cube are expensive and that they are focusing on doing more sports-adjacent programming and potential spinoffs of Impractical Jokers. From the talk, transcription provided by Deadline: “Sarlanis admitted that these shows are expensive. “Those are very much in the realm of what we do. Wipeout is inherently comedic and a joy to watch. But I think what we’re what we’re looking at is being realistic in terms of the entire environment. We have to recalibrate,” he said.
