Things are are about to get very interesting in the Judgment Day clubhouse…
A few months ago, following Dominik Mysterio’s Intercontinental Championship win, it seemed like the already fractured Judgment Day was headed toward a break up. Having lost to Mysterio in the match, Finn Balor was jaded and bitter. Those feelings only amplified when Mysterio seemed to bring Balor’s protege JD McDonagh back, without Balor knowing first. It had become apparent to Balor that Mysterio and Liv Morgan had taken over the running of Judgment Day and that didn’t quite sit right with the first-ever universal champion.
While many expected Balor to turn on Mysterio and cost him the title at some point leading to a feud with the two, he took a different approach, seeming to be working to destroy the Judgment Day from the inside. Balor appeared to change his tune toward Mysterio, openly manipulating him and Dom’s been none the wiser. Part of Balor’s plan looked to involve Roxanne Perez, namely as a way to drive a wedge between Mysterio and Morgan. Perez began to interfere on behalf of Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, helping the duo keep the Women’s Tag Team Championship and assisting Mysterio as well. Slowly, the members of Judgment Day seemed to be coming around toward Perez. It just so happened at the same time, Morgan suffered a real life injury and will be out for at least a few months.
The storyline seemed to be headed that way but Morgan’s injury sped things up. At Night of Champions, Perez took her final step in official Judgment Day initiation as she gained the respect and support of Rodriguez as the two hugged following Rodriguez’ match with Ripley.
New Champs
On Monday, Balor and McDonagh got a world tag team championship opportunity and they did not disappoint. The two had a fantastic bout with the New Day that featured several near falls from both sides. The match ended when Balor took advantage of a quick tag and hit the Coup de Grace on Xavier Woods. Dominik Mysterio joined his mates at the ramp as the three Judgment Day champs held up their titles.
But that wasn’t it. Later in the night, Balor and McDonagh caught up with Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis to pre-empt any conversation about what to do with the women’s tag team titles. Balor suggested that Roxanne Perez step up for Liv Morgan because it wouldn’t be fair to Raquel Rodriguez to be stripped given how hard she’s worked. After a brief deliberation, Pearce and Aldis agreed under the condition that the new champs defend their titles in a mega four-team tag match at Evolution II.
For the next two weeks however, Perez is a champion. Though, that news was met backstage with some initial resistance. Rodriguez didn’t agree with Balor just replacing Morgan but he said that’s not what he was doing. He knew what it took to recover from shoulder injury and he just didn’t want to see her stripped of the title. Balor then suggested it was time for an official vote to see if Perez would be the newest member of Judgment Day. Balor was an easy yes, McDonagh said they needed to keep Judgment Day on top. Mysterio said he needed to talk to Morgan first but Balor pushed him to make his own decision and make Liv proud. It was an alleged yes for Mysterio leaving the decision up to Rodriguez. Reluctantly, Rodriguez agreed and Perez promised to earn it starting with her going after the woman who injured Morgan, Kairi Sane.
It’s hard to believe that just weeks ago it seemed Judgment Day was headed toward a break-up at any given moment and now, they are more united than ever holding all the gold. The five champs all put their titles in as Balor smiled and joked that Morgan was going to love this…

No, Finn, Liv is Not Going to Love this
When Liv Morgan returns to find out she has effectively been replaced thanks to Balor’s machinations, it’s not going to sit well with the woman who had become Judgment Day’s defacto leader following the ousting of Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley. Morgan herself, essentially insinuated herself into the faction and in storyline, Mysterio’s arms, so it’s no wonder she has fears of Perez doing the same. The Judgment Day Morgan returns to could be very different and Balor could insist they no longer need her.
It has seemed for a while WWE was gearing up for a Liv Morgan face turn and it now seems the opportunity is ripe for Morgan to break away from Judgment Day and begin a run as one of WWE’s top babyface stars.
