Karrion Kross and Scarlett blurred the lines between reality and character during an appearance on WWE’s WrestleMania recap show. Kross was involved in the AJ Styles vs. Logan Paul match but didn’t have a match of his own at the event. He told host Sam Roberts that he should have “just started a YouTube channel,” and then he would have gotten to wrestle Styles. “Let’s talk about what Logan Paul represents: the shortcut,” Kross said. “Feels so good to be here. Feels so good to be in the business, thinking about all of the funerals that I wasn’t able to attend for the last 11 years in this business, all of the holidays I missed. You know, I could have just started a YouTube channel, could have just jumped in there with AJ Styles. Feels really good. It’s awesome.” Scarlett added, “Do you guys know we have 25 years combined experience, and what are we doing on Mania?” Kross tied his comments to his ongoing storyline with Styles. “All I asked Alan to do was for once to not think about just himself. Browns HC confirms Dillon Gabriel, Shedeur Sanders whispers

A previous report suggested that the Cleveland Browns want to start 2025 third-round draft pick Dillon Gabriel at quarterback for this coming Saturday's preseason game at the Philadelphia Eagles over 2025 fifth-rounder Shedeur Sanders as long as Gabriel is healthy enough to play at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field. While speaking with reporters ahead of Wednesday's joint practice involving the clubs, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed that Gabriel began the day on track to start Saturday's contest. "The plan was always to give both of those guys a start in the preseason, so we’ll see how it shakes out," Stefanski explained, as shared by Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk. Neither Gabriel nor backup Kenny Pickett played in Cleveland's preseason opener at the Carolina Panthers on Friday as they continued to recover from lingering hamstring injuries. Sanders received the bulk of the meaningful reps in that game and completed 14-of-23 passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns in a 30-10 win over Carolina. While Gabriel is doing 11-on-11 work during joint practices this week, Pickett remained relegated to 7-on-7 drills as of Wednesday. That said, FanDuel Sportsbook continued to list 40-year-old Joe Flacco as the betting favorite at -310 odds to be the Browns' starting quarterback for their Week 1 game against the Cincinnati Bengals as of Wednesday. Pickett was at +360 odds, followed by Sanders at +1060. Gabriel was a +1800 underdog to get the nod for the Cincinnati matchup at that time. Gabriel began Wednesday as the Browns' unofficial QB3 ahead of Sanders. Meanwhile, Sanders did not get any reps in the opening few periods of the Browns' joint practice with the Eagles on Wednesday morning after suffering an oblique injury. Earlier in the month, the former Colorado star missed some practice time due to arm soreness. Per Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Stefanski added that he wants "to get through" Thursday before he finalizes his plans for the Philadelphia game. Unless Gabriel experiences a setback ahead of the weekend, it seems he will receive an opportunity to silence critics while serving as Cleveland's temporary QB1 against the Eagles.

Oregon suspends former five-star WR recruit indefinitely

Oregon wide receiver Jurrion Dickey has struggled to live up to expectations in his first two seasons with the Ducks, and he is now in a terrible position heading into 2025 as well. Dickey has been suspended indefinitely by Oregon, head coach Dan Lanning announced on Tuesday. Lanning also suggested that Dickey may not play for the Ducks again. "We have two team rules; that’s respectful, be on time,” Lanning said, via James Crepea of The Oregonian. “There’s some pieces of that where I felt like he needed a break from us and we needed a break from that so we could focus on what’s in front of us right now. "Wishing him nothing but the best, as far as success and want to see him get back to where he can be a contributor somewhere; that might be here that might be somewhere else.” Dickey was a five-star recruit and rated as one of the top wide receivers in the country when he came out of Menlo-Atherton High School in Atherton, California, in 2023. He suffered an injury in his senior year in high school and redshirted as a freshman at Oregon. Dickey has two catches for 14 years during his time with the Ducks. Oregon went 13-1 in Lanning's third season with the program last season. The Ducks lost to eventual national champion Ohio State in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals.

Recent injury could create an opening for the Steelers to make a trade that would solve the WR issue once and for all

Recent injury could create an opening for the Steelers to make a trade that would solve the WR issue once and for all

Calvin Austin III hasn't practiced in nearly two weeks for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Meaning a team that was already thin and boasting questions at the WR position might have a renewed interest in adding another. Well, there's a chance that one of the best players at the position will be available, and Pittsburgh has a history with his current team... Could the Steelers swing a Tyreek Hill trade? It’s no secret that, despite what you hear from the Steelers brass, this team is still poking around to try and bolster its roster. That is especially true at the WR position, where Pittsburgh would probably have already traded for Terry McLaurin if Washington wasn’t dead set on keeping him. So insert Hill and the Miami Dolphins. I know Pittsburgh already hammered out a blockbuster trade with the Dolphins this year, but Hill is a little different. For one, the Steelers know they have a giant question mark in their WR corps outside of DK Metcalf. Secondly, if the Steelers manage to trade for Hill after Aug. 31, the day of which his $15.85 million roster bonus is due, they can use their nearly $20 million in effective cap space to work through his base salary and per-game roster bonuses fairly easily. So what do they give up? I proposed a 2026 second-round pick and a 2027 third-round pick in exchange for Hill and a 2026 5th-rounder, to one of our Dolphins creators at A to Z Sports, Kyle Crabbs. In an exercise where Crabbs compared offers from four other teams, the Steelers came out on top with a little bit of a revision to the offer: "I would accept the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offer out of the four proposed to me by my colleagues here at A to Z Sports (if I had to)," wrote Crabbs. "The winning trade offer sends 2026 second, 2027 third-round draft choices, and wide receiver Calvin Austin III to Miami in return for wide receiver Tyreek Hill and a 2026 fifth-round draft choice." Roman Wilson has stepped up in Austin's absence, and the group already has its headliner via DK Metcalf. But adding another vertical presence on the outside via one of the fastest and most productive players of his generation can't hurt. Especially if Pittsburgh could swing the trade for the draft capital I was willing to part with in our hypothetical trade.

Chiefs get positive update on Rashee Rice's potential suspension

The Kansas City Chiefs may have their primary pass-catcher on the field to start the 2025 season. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the date for Rashee Rice's disciplinary hearing with the NFL has been set to Sept. 30. That makes him available for the first four weeks of the campaign. Nevertheless, as NFL insider Mike Florio notes, the Chiefs might be in a bit of a hurry to resolve this, as they don't want it to drag further into the season. "An agreement as to a punishment under the Personal Conduct Policy can be reached at any time," wrote Florio. "If it doesn’t happen, the hearing will transpire. Depending on the time necessary for a final decision and any appeal, Rice could be available for roughly half of the season, before a suspension would commence." This essentially means that if both parties can't reach a resolution soon, Rice could be suspended late into the season or even in the playoffs. However, he likely won't face a lengthy suspension, and could be looking at a 4-6 game ban, based on prior similar incidents. Rice pleaded guilty to multiple felonies after his involvement in a multi-car crash in Texas in 2024. He then suffered a season-ending leg injury just four games into his second year in the league. Rice is projected to be quarterback Patrick Mahomes' primary weapon in the passing game after his breakout rookie season. Second-year pro Xavier Worthy and Marquise Brown will round out the receiving room.
