WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash underwent a heart procedure on Wednesday, September 24. On the latest episode of his podcast, Kliq This, Nash spoke about the procedure and the aftermath.
Nash shared how his heart procedure was less than an hour, and the medical team was happy with how it went. The procedure was an electronic correction for an irregular heartbeat. He also shared his favorite drink to have after his surgery — cranberry juice. He said:
“So I wake up. He’s smiling at me. They’re happy. I said, okay, you know, we’ll get your wife. She came in and said, ‘you want something to drink?’ I said, ‘yeah.’ And my go-to after-surgery drink is always cranberry juice, because I don’t ever drink anything like that. So that’s why, that’s like, you know, nice and tart, kind of cleans your mouth out. So I had my cranberry juice, and then they were like, ‘well, you can get up whenever you feel like it.’ I just sat around because I already had my shoes on. She untied the back of my thing. I pulled it off, put my T-shirt on, and was in the car, I think, total time until we hit the IHOP was under an hour. Yeah, 53 (minutes). And then I get home.” (H/T: Fightful)
So things seemed to have gone well for the Hall of Famer, which is always good news. Nash opened up about his heart troubles last week on his podcast.
The 66-year-old had also revealed on his podcast, before the procedure, that his cardiologist had found a small amount of scar tissue on the back of his heart. It was thought that he had suffered a minor heart attack 20 years ago. He had said:
“My cardiologist said that I could have had… a minor heart attack like 20 years ago. The scar tissue on my heart was like 3%, like a 3% scar. He said that could be genetic. It could have been during the procedure of putting the stent… ’It was in the back of your heart.’ He said, ‘The only problem you got right now is you've got a little bit of an irregular heartbeat. We’re going to zap you and put you back in rhythm.’ So that's my next thing.” (H/T:WrestlePurists)
Nash retired from wrestling in January 2020. His last official match was in August 2018 for Big Time Wrestling, where he won a gauntlet match and the BTW Heavyweight Title. His last WWE match was as an entrant in the 2014 Royal Rumble. His last singles match was against Triple H in a Sledgehammer Ladder match at the 2011 TLC PLE.
