Kevin Owens attacks, piledrives Sami Zayn on WWE Raw

Kevin Owens has turned against Sami Zayn once again.

On Raw, CM Punk defeated Zayn in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match. The two shook hands after the match, but as Punk was making his exit Owens ran in and attacked Zayn from behind, sending Zayn into Punk who fell to the floor. Owens continued to assault Zayn until Owens took him out with a package piledriver, a weapon Owens has used to take out foes in recent months.

Owens had confronted Zayn shortly before the Royal Rumble, telling Zayn that he was going to look the other way after Zayn willingly teamed with Roman Reigns. Instead, Owens suggested that Zayn help him win the ladder match for the WWE title against Cody Rhodes, saying that if Zayn won the Rumble and Owens retained his title, they could headline WrestleMania.

At the Royal Rumble, Zayn did came out towards the end of the match. When Rhodes laid out Owens with an Alabama Slam through a ladder, Zayn checked on Owens’ condition, allowing Rhodes to climb the ladder and grab both the WWE Championship and the Winged Eagle version of the WWE title that Owens had taken possession of since last month’s Saturday Night’s Main Event.
