Kevin Owens re-signing with WWE is a huge win

Kevin Owens is involved in a compelling feud with Cody Rhodes. The two have been going at each other for months. Rhodes beat Owens during a ladder match at the Royal Rumble.

At the time of watching, Owens was seen as an impending free agent. The violent nature of how he got "Alabama Slammed" through a ladder led some to believe that WWE had given itself a reason to explain a potential exit if Owens had decided to leave the company.

However, in a recent post on X, the prizefighter confirmed he's extended his stay with the wrestling giant.

Owens' post is rather cryptic. Fortunately Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp has since confirmed Owens has re-signed with the company.

"Kevin Owens has officially re-signed with WWE," Sapp reported. "Owens saw his WWE deal set to expire at the end of 2024 or start of 2025, with many question marks whether his new deal had officially been nailed down. Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp has confirmed he did."

WWE has been heating up since moving to Netflix. Multiple roster moves and some big-time matches have occurred. However, Owens has been at the forefront of arguably the biggest story of 2025 thus far. His growing hatred for Rhodes is bringing out a different side to the American Nightmare and giving fans a glimpse of what he could look like as a heel.

Since arriving in the WWE, Owens has been a premier talent. He's headlined WrestleMania. He's been a Universal, United States and Intercontinental champion. And, he's been involved in some of the biggest storylines of the last decade. Owens is a trusted member of the roster.

By signing a new deal, he now has the opportunity to continue building his legacy within the company. And, from WWE's standpoint, one of its biggest draws can continue to headline story angles for at least another five years. The only question left is what's going to happen the next time Owens sees Rhodes?
