One of the things that Killer Kross (former WWE Superstar Karrion Kross) revealed about his contract offer from WWE was that Scarlett was not involved. Fans weren’t surprised that the only other reason he didn’t sign back with the company was the low-ball offer. But does Kross always see them as a package deal?
In an interview with The Wrestling Classic, he was asked if he and Scarlett would always be doing the same indie shows and, in the future, signing with the same wrestling promotion. While he did answer the question, it was how Kross went into great detail about why he’s so adamant against offers that hide important terms and conditions or don’t respect their talent enough to offer a decent contract. He said:
“Not necessarily. Her and I, as long as the deal is fair and with respect and can be discussed with logic and rational communication, we’re open to working in and out of whatever is being offered. But like, if you come to me and you offer me something and you tell me that we’re going to exclude all of this information and you were to say to me that the revenue I’m generating for the company is not relevant to the conversation, well, some of my friends are dead or have broken their necks doing this and I don’t want to be laid up somewhere in a hospital bed one day thinking about terms that I accepted when you told me that and I didn’t feel comfortable with it. So like, her and I are, you know, I guess just the direct answer would be not necessarily, no.” (h/t: Fightful)
As noted, the husband-and-wife team left WWE soon after Kross's match against Sami Zayn at SummerSlam. Kross would later reveal that higher-ups in the company told him not to listen to the current fan support he was getting. So it seemed that there was a lot of drama, and probably a good thing Kross and Scarlett decided to depart the company.
Actually, Kross and Scarelett are busier than ever. Scarlett is going to be returning to the ring this month for WrestlePro. It will be the first time since December 2024 that Scarlett will be in the ring, though it wasn’t a televised match. Her last televised match was in June 2023, where she tagged with Kross against AJ Styles and Michin. Before WWE, Scarlett was an established in-ring competitor, but once the couple came to WWE, she was really just a valet.
Kross and Scarlett’s first post-WWE show is slated for September 21 for WrestlePro’s “Killer Smokeshow.” While Scarlett’s opponent has yet to be announced, Kross will be facing former MLW Champion Richard Halliday. A month later, on October 11, Kross will be making his House of Glory debut in a match against Matt Cardona. That's just one of many indie wrestling shows that fans can see Kross (and Scarlett) at. So, in the end, it appears that the two are doing just fine.
