Liv Morgan's WWE Return: Royal Rumble 2026 Surprise?

Roxanne Perez took her Judgment Day spot; Morgan may return as a babyface and seek retribution.

It’s been a while since the WWE universe has seen former Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan in the ring. She’s been out of action since suffering a separated shoulder in a match against Kairi Sane on the June 16, 2025, edition of Raw. Her injury would require surgery. Now it’s looking like Morgan will be back soon.

Liv Morgan Expected To Return Early 2026

PWInsider Elite’s Mike Johnson has reported that Morgan could be back in the ring by the beginning of 2026. Johnson also stated that it’s always possible for her to return before that. As long as she’s ahead of schedule for her physical rehab, though, nothing definitive has been heard.

Morgan might need to clean house when she gets back, seeing that Roxanne Perez stole her spot in the Judgment Day stable. That is, if the stable is even around when she returns. As noted, some is speculation that Morgan will be returning as a babyface. Anything is possible in WWE.

Fans Hope Liv Morgan Is The 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble Winner

Since the news was released about Morgan coming back just around the time of the 2026 Royal Rumble PLE, fans have taken to social media to say that she needs to win it this year. One fan wrote:

“I really hope they save her as a rumble surprise and finally let her win.”

Another called WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H baldy and warned him not to screw it up. They tweeted:

“Rumble win. Don't screw this up baldy.”

While another fan thinks she should win, and then if Stephanie Vaquer is still the WWE Women’s World Champion, she should face her at WrestleMania 42. The fan wrote:

“Hear me out Liv Morgan wins the Royal Rumble Match and challenges Stephanie for the Women’s World Championship, only if Stephanie is still champion by then.”

Though one fan has speculated that Raquel Rodriguez could cost her the match. They tweeted:

I mean she’s winning the rumble right? Surely? Unless she enters and Raquel throws her out (as a surprise to then side with Roxanne).

Another person brought up Alexa Bliss’ pop when she made a surprise return to the 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble. Her last match before that was in January 2023, and now she’s holding the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles with Charlotte Flair. The fan wrote:

BIGGEST POP AT THE RUMBLE SINCE ALEXA BLISS THIS YEAR

Morgan winning the Women's Rumble match is not a bad idea at all. The 2026 Royal Rumble is taking place on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It will be the first time the event is held outside of North America.
