After making a mockery of Pete Dunne and Ludwig Kaiser on multiple occasions, the stage seemed set for another Penta masterclass. The key draw again, Penta worked through his greatest hits with the same devastating aplomb.

A Canadian Destroyer here, a Topé con Hilo there. Despite the presence of Dunne and Kaiser in this triple threat, it was too easy for Penta.

The Sacrifice gave Dunne a dose of his own submissive medicine but before Penta could land the Pentagon Driver, Ludwig Kaiser timed his interception perfectly. Tossing Penta through the middle rope, Kaiser was able to finish Dunne with a Reverse STO and claim victory.

A Change in Fortune for Ludwig Kaiser?

Kaiser’s victory brings an end to Penta’s WWE unbeaten streak (Royal Rumble excluded) and, even though Penta wasn’t the one who was pinned, it puts a serious notch on the belt of Kaiser. While Ludwig hasn’t scored as many wins as he would’ve liked, he continues to push every opponent to the limit.

The battle for mid-card supremacy continues to be tightly fought, with an outright contender for Bron Breakker yet to be established post-Netflix. Up until this week, Penta could make a strong play for being the closest thing to a #1 contender. However, as Kaiser stated in his post-match interview, the loss is taking the attention away from Penta and putting the spotlight on Kaiser.

Damaging but Far From Terminal for Penta’s Early Momentum

It was surprising to see Penta muscled out of his victory in the dying stages of his triple threat with Dunne and Kaiser. It portrayed a superstar so confident in his ability that victory seemed like an inevitability.

In reality, Dunne had absorbed the worst of Penta and Kaiser’s offense. One Superkick was never going to keep Kaiser down long enough to hit the Pentagon Driver and pinfall without reply. It is clear that the meat of this rivalry now rests on Penta vs Kaiser.

Tonight’s result makes a strong case for that argument. It is a humbling moment but one with very few consequences for Penta.

The bad blood in Penta and Kaiser’s rivalry just took on a deeper shade of crimson. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see the winner of this feud heading towards Bron Breakker and WrestleMania.

Tough Times for Pete Dunne

Winless in 2025 and the punching bag for Penta and Kaiser in this triple threat. It was a bout that did very little to improve the stock of Pete Dunne.

Kaiser is improving with every promo and Penta continues to captivate with his explosive move set. Dunne is quite simply being outshone in this feud. With WrestleMania fast approaching, it looks more and more likely that Dunne is going to be pushed towards another storyline.

Kaiser and Penta, as a feud, has longevity – especially if it merges with Breakker’s various simmering disputes. A WrestleMania Intercontinental Championship match that encompasses Breakker, Penta, Kaiser, and possibly Finn Bálor, Dominik Mysterio, and AJ Styles would be a highlight of the card. Right now, it’s difficult to see how Pete Dunne could make a case for his involvement in that tussle.
