Former NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria was caught by surprise when she was drafted to WWE RAW.

Lyra Valkyria has quickly established herself as one of RAW’s brightest stars. She has earned a spot in the finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament at WWE King and Queen of the Ring.

Speaking with Matty Paddock for talkSPORT, Lyra Valkyria reflected on her time on the main roster so far. She noted that it has been a wild ride.

“I was sitting in NXT a month ago and now I’m sitting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia,” Lyra Valkyria said. “It has been absolutely wild and trying to keep up is insane, but I’m almost like: ‘I’m glad I don’t have too much time to think about it.”

Valkyria also looked back on getting drafted to WWE RAW. She admitted that she had no idea it was going to happen.

“I was focused on regaining my NXT Women’s Championship and the draft was coming up,” Lyra Valkyria said. “I suppose I’d thought about [being drafted], but I usually trust my gut instinct, and this was the first time my gut instinct has ever failed me as I honestly had no idea.

“When they called my name, I felt my stomach drop. I had no idea that was going to happen, and now I’m in Jeddah.”

At WWE King and Queen of the Ring, Valkyria will face the winner of the semi-final match between Nia Jax and Bianca Belair on the May 24 episode of WWE SmackDown. WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
