'Made It Look Seamless' - WWE Hall of Famer Praises Stratton, Cargill & Jax SmackDown Main Event

Mark Henry has commended Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill, and Nia Jax, suggesting they deserve an Oscar for handling a difficult moment in their SmackDown triple threat match. The trio battled it out for Stratton's WWE Women's Championship in the main event on Friday night.

Mark Henry Hails 'Oscar-Worthy' Stratton, Cargill & Jax

Tiffany Stratton successfully defended her title by pinning Nia Jax, and she will go on to Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia and face RAW's Women's World Champion Stephanie Vaquer. But it was a match full of twists and turns, both legitimate and in kayfabe.

Jade Cargill suffered a cut to her face after a steel steps spot, which led to the finish of the match changing on the fly. There was confusion in the final stages of the triple threat when a botched pinfall occurred, and that has been the biggest takeaway from the match for viewers.

Mark Henry offered a contrasting view, full of praise for the three women for managing to "seamlessly" adjust to the situation. The WWE Hall of Famer told SiriusXM Busted Open:

"Hollywood, where your Oscars at? Because when it comes to knowing when something is going awry and how to get out of it. Jade Cargill got busted open and it weren't supposed to happen and the talent in the ring, they're able to think on the fly, make it exciting, make it look seamless."

While Henry gave a glowing verdict of the match, it was panned by most because of the botched pin with referee Daphanie LaShaunn not counting three because she knew this wasn't the planned finish. The match itself will be remembered for the error that did none of its participants any favours.

Henry pointed out there is no second take:

"This is pro wrestling, that's the nature of not having take one, take two, take three, high-level performance, no smoke, no mirrors, just talent to put together a successful main event."

Henry knows how tough it can be for wrestlers to work around an injury, having lost the World Heavyweight Championship due to a groin injury back in 2011, according to ProWrestling.net. The World's Strongest Man pulled his groin against John Cena on RAW, but managed to finish the match before dropping his title at TLC after Daniel Bryan cashed in following a "rushed" match with Big Show.

Referee Responds To Botch in SmackDown Triple Threat

WWE official Daphanie LaShaunn has broken her silence about her involvement in the botched pinfall sequence in the main event, saying she is only human. The referee took to Instagram to tell fans:

"I see all the love. I’m just human, but I can promise that I strive to always be better. Which will forever be my goal as long as I’m on this journey. I love this just like y’all. That I can swear to you."

While the incident was a disaster to watch for the audience, both on television and inside the Kia Center in Orlando, there was more concern about Cargill. TC WrestleVotes reports that her injury was legitimate and forced producer Tyson Kidd to restructure the match's finish while it was ongoing.

Referee LaShaunn had nothing to do with that situation and was unfortunately tasked with trying to keep a match going that spiralled out of control. Most backlash from fans is aimed at Jax, who questions how safe she is as a worker due to the cut sustained by Cargill.
