Major Miscue Taints Title Match on WWE SmackDown; Crown Jewel Match Set
Dylan Azari/Special to the Telegram & Gazette / USA TODAY NETWORK

Friday night, WWE SmackDown featured the main event Triple Threat WWE Women’s Championship Match between champion Tiffany Stratton and her challengers Nia Jax and Jade Cargill. It was an exciting match between the three, with every woman struggling to get the win over the other and claim the WWE Women’s Championship.

The match was extremely tense, and we even saw Jade Cargill get busted open, sporting a deep cut at the tail-end of the match. While bloody, Cargill hit the “Eye of the Storm” Boss Man Slam on Nia Jax, and was seconds away from claiming the title before Stratton would break up the pin.

Stratton would then try to capitalize on the opening Cargill provider, pinning Jax. This sequence was where everything went wrong. Stratton pinned Jax, and as the fall was nearing the 3-count, WWE Official Aja Smith would stop the count without a kick out, leading to Stratton and Jax eyeing her with confusion.

Nia Jax would kick out extremely late. The two would do things on the fly. Stratton dropped an elbow, then hit the Prettiest Moonsault Ever to retain the title. It was highly apparent that there was a miscommunication when it came to the finish of the main event, the Triple Threat championship match.

Post-match, #AndNEW WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer would enter the ring and stare down WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton to end the show, and make the match official at WWE Crown Jewel Perth for the WWE Women’s Crown Jewel Championship.

It was a crazy night indeed for WWE SmackDown, and it got even crazier with a very noticeable botched finish.
