Major Update on Ludwig Kaiser's WWE Status
Ludwig Kaiser and El Grande Americano in WWE

Last week delivered some stunning news when Ludwig Kaiser, real name Marcel Barthel, was arrested for misdemeanor battery over an April incident in Orlando. According to his accuser, he entered an elevator to find Kaiser getting physical with a woman. When he made a comment about their behavior, Kaiser allegedly attacked the man. This led to a mugshot of Kaiser hitting social media and fans wondering if his career was in jeopardy. With Kaiser now getting over as El Grande Americano, could the arrest be the end of his time in WWE and AAA? A new report tells us what WWE is thinking.

Ludwig Kaiser Doesn't Have Heat With WWE

According to False Finish, WWE isn't expected to punish Ludwig Kaiser, at least not in the near future. Fightful Select added:

Those we spoke to in WWE also expect that the charges will eventually be dismissed, based on information they’ve received. Kaiser doesn’t have any heat within the company among those that we spoke to.

Fightful Select also reported that WWE was aware of the incident by the time Kaiser was arrested for battery. That's good news for the popular superstar, but things aren't as great as others were recently reporting.

The Story About Ludwig Kaiser's Arrest Coming After ICE Comments Might Be False

Many fans were upset with Kaiser after his arrest. The consensus was that he had been careless by getting into a fight with someone when he's on the verge of his biggest match. On May 30, he's set to take on the original El Grande Americano (played by Chad Gable) in a mask vs. mask in AAA. Other WWE stars, like the Usos and Liv Morgan, have been arrested in recent years, but those were for non-violent charges. Would Kaiser's situation be different and cost him his job?

Then Raj Giri took to Twitter/X with a report of his own, writing:

Reap [the neighbor] allegedly didn’t say anything in the elevator but once he got out on the 12th floor, he allegedly said something to Kaiser to the effect of ‘you need to show some f’n respect before I call ICE on that b**ch.’ Kaiser got out of the elevator and they had a little scuffle, but no punches were apparently thrown.

Dave Meltzer and Fightful Select questioned the accuracy of this at the time, but fans saw it as a way to dismiss Kaiser's actions and even celebrate them. As it turns out, it doesn't look like Giri's account is what happened. In their report today, WWE sources told Fightful Select that they thought the story was a plant.

There was an unfamiliar number that reached out to several members of the wrestling media with the story, as opposed to Kaiser or Andrea themselves, or a member of WWE’s team.

Fightful Select went on to say that some WWE superstars told them they were in "disbelief" that the story had been changed to Kaiser protecting himself, when it looks like that's not what happened. They thought Kaiser should have "just removed himself from the situation." Either way, no matter what actually occurred, it looks like Ludwig Kaiser is going to be okay. Would his job be safe though if not for the wild success of El Grande Americano?
