Matt Riddle made his surprise debut at Friday’s TNA Turning Point as the mystery partner in a trios match.
Riddle teamed up with Zachary Wentz and KUSHIDA to take on the Hardys & Ace Austin as part of the streaming special. Riddle was filling in for Trey Miguel who was unable to make it due to travel issues — a throwback to when the WWE star was a mentor to Wentz and Wes Lee in their NXT days.
Riddle was not on the winning end of the equation, however, as the Hardys and Austin picked up the victory.
It’s unclear if this was a one-off appearance given the circumstances or if TNA will use Riddle more. As early as February, he said he had talks with the company. He is currently the AAA Cruiserweight Champion and has been making appearances for MLW in addition to working various indies.
