MJF namedrops Vince McMahon upon SHOCKING return at AEW Double or Nothing
Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

If there was any doubt about his status, MJF made it loud and clear that he’s All Elite. The former AEW World Champion returned at Double or Nothing by interrupting his former best friend, Adam Cole. Dawning the Triple H 2002 MSG look, he first delivered a low blow to Cole before cutting a passionate promo. And folks, it took only a minute for him to namedrop Vince McMahon on AEW programming.

A motivated MJF did what he did best and reminded everyone who he was. Referring to himself as the greatest wrestler in the world, he took a jab at Adam Cole and the rest of the locker room. The self-proclaimed generational talent claimed that unlike his co-workers, he didn’t require a NJPW or Vince McMahon to propel him. On the contrary, he boldly asserted that he was a self-made gem in the wrestling industry.

Speaking of the former WWE chairman, he resigned from his position back in January. The founder of the company was accused of s*xual trafficking and abuse by Janel Grant. Since then, he has not only been ousted from the promotion he used to own, but there have been clear efforts to erase his name. Therefore, despite being in the rival promotion, it was still surprising to hear MJF mention McMahon.

Two months ago, one of MJF’s greatest rivals, CM Punk, alluded to the 78-year-old on Raw while mocking Drew McIntyre. Least said, fans shouldn’t expect either wrestling company to be promoting McMahon’s name amid the ongoing lawsuit.

What is next for MJF in AEW?

To express his loyalty to the promotion, MJF revealed that he got an AEW tattoo imprinted on his knee. Without question, the former AEW World Champion will be staying for years to come. As for what lies in wait for the star, there is a star-studded lineup of co-workers that he would be interested in facing.

MJF’s last run didn’t exactly end on good terms. He was betrayed and attacked by Adam Cole and the Undisputed Kingdom. One would assume that the 28-year-old will seek revenge. However, the Devil made it loud and clear that he wanted nothing to do with Cole and the faction.

Hence, the most obvious choice for MJF at the moment would be to go after the top prize and the man holding it, Swerve Strickland . Needless to say, it will be interesting to see what lies in wait for MJF in his new run.
