Music icon and WWE crossover star Metro Boomin has thrown his hat into the ring when it comes to producing WWE theme songs. Metro Boomin has collaborated with WWE before, specifically working with then-WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in 2024. The super-producer had two No. 1 albums with Future (“We Don’t Trust You” and “We Still Don’t Trust You”), and now he wants to produce WWE themes, calling it a dream of his.
Would love to produce some WWE entrance themes. It’s a lifelong goal of mine 👀— Metro Boomin (@MetroBoomin) May 28, 2025
He posted on X.com, "Would love to produce some WWE entrance themes. It’s a lifelong goal of mine." It was news that had many WWE fans chime in on his post and tag Triple H in the hopes that WWE gives him a call to work something out. The post has over 1.7 million views and has garnered responses like, "@TripleH pick up the phone we need to talk." and "Way better choice than Def Rebel. @TripleH make the call."
Fans have voiced their displeasure with recent Def Rebel productions, who at one time, created some good themes. However, since 2019, Def Rebel has been in charge of WWE's music, and they've created songs that seem too similar and aren't memorable. Among their best have been themes for Imperium, Bayley, Damian Priest, Seth Rollins, and the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. Lately, they've had as many duds as they've had winners.
Some fans are contending that Metro Boomin would be a stronger fit for WWE theme music than Def Rebel, due to his relevance in the music industry today and his ability to create iconic, high-energy music that resonates more with today's fans. Perhaps his production would have more mainstream appeal. It could be perfect for enhancing wrestler entrances and, if nothing else, offer up something different.
Fightful reported recently that several wrestlers were upset with the quality of the music being produced and that they weren't included in the process of creating their theme. One would think that a new artist, excited to live out a lifelong dream, would be thrilled to work with the talent to create something perfect for their characters.
Plus, it might be nice to change things up. When you get the same artists doing the themes for all of the wrestlers for too long a period of time, there is bound to be repetition.
