Tony D’Angelo snapped Oba Femi’s winning streak to become the new North American Champion on Tuesday’s WWE NXT.

D’Angelo pinned Femi on Tuesday’s episode with a sunset flip out of a Femi powerbomb attempt to win the title for the first time. D’Angelo celebrated with his Family following the upset victory:

Femi’s first North American title reign ends at 273 days, plus D’Angelo handed Femi his first loss of 2024 in the title bout. Femi had been 30-0 across all matches in NXT this year.

Femi won the Breakout tournament final on a New Year’s Evil special episode of NXT on January 2, earning him a contract for a title match. He then cashed in the following week, defeating Dragon Lee to capture the North American title.

Counting house shows, Femi defended the North American title 23 times prior to his defeat Tuesday, including a successful defense over D’Angelo at the No Mercy PLE on September 1.

D’Angelo’s victory is his fourth championship win in NXT, as he has held the NXT Tag titles twice, plus the NXT Heritage Cup once.
