This WWE Raw recap is from the March 9, 2026, episode from the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle. The number one contender for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship was crowned, while the new Men’s InterContinental Champion, Penta, put his title on the line.

Seth Rollins & The Vision

General manager Adam Pearce opened this WWE Raw recap by calling Seth Rollins to the ring. They were quickly interrupted by “The Maverick” Logan Paul and Austin Theory of The Vision. Flanked by a fleet of masked men in black, Rollins escaped the situation. LA Knight and WWE World Tag Team Champions, The Usos (Jey and Jim Uso), took the opportunity to jump Theory and Paul, who powdered to end the segment.

WWE Raw Recap – Women’s Gauntlet Match

The first match of the night was a gauntlet match to determine the number one contender for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Lyra Valkyra and Iyo Sky got things started with some smooth chain wrestling before exchanging high spots.

Sky picked up the pin after hitting her Over The Moon Sault. Enter Raquel Rodriguez. Liv Morgan ran a distraction, but was swiftly removed from the equation by Stephanie Vaquer. Rodriguez was pinned, but beat the life out of her opponent after the bell.

Ivy Nile rushed to try and take advantage, and to the shock of the WWE Universe, eliminated Sky. “Role Model” Bayley entered the next participant, but was blindsided by Nile on the way.

Bayley battled through the disadvantage, only to face the final participant, Asuka. Kairi Sane tried to aid the latest entrant, but Valkyra came back to even the odds.

Asuka locked in her Asuka Lock, but Bayley reversed it, leading to a Rose Plant and the end of the match. The Role Model is the new number one contender for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

WWE Raw Recap – Intercontinental Championship

New Intercontinental Champion Penta cut an in-ring promo next. The promo was a clear babyface script written by WWE. The title is for the hard-working fans, and he couldn’t have done it without them.

Penta was scheduled to defend the championship against “The Original” El Grande Americano, but after being cursed by Danhausen in the back, he didn’t make the match. Instead, the title was defended against El Grande Americano. Despite the tired Americano gimmick, the match itself was entertaining. It had a quick pace and elite reversals. The champion ultimately retained.

Balor Gets Edged

The Judgment Day (“Dirty” Dominik Mysterio, Morgan, and Rodriguez) came to the ring with a mic. Mysterio demanded a rematch against Penta for the Intercontinental Championship, then blamed Finn Balor. Balor and JD McDonough came to the ring, going face-to-face with the trio, as if there was an imaginary line between them.

A verbal exchange led to a fight between two of them. It seemed Balor was going to come out on top against Mysterio, but McDonough hit him with a clothesline, joining the other side of the ring. The four stars beat their former faction-mate senseless, standing over him as the show cut to commercial.

WWE Raw Recap – Oba Femi Vs. Rusev

Oba Femi and “The Bulgarian Lion” Rusev faced off. There was a brief back-and-forth, but WWE is over-protecting Femi, with even this match a glorified squash. It’s also a waste of the Bulgarian, resigning him only to job for NXT call-ups.

The Usos & CM Punk

World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk’s promo was interrupted by The Usos. After speaking of their late uncle to Roman Reigns last week, the brothers demanded an apology. Punk refused and was subsequently punched out to end this WWE Raw recap.
