A week has passed since Hulk Hogan’s death punched a giant hole in the wrestling world. ‘The Immortal One’ had reportedly experienced a cardiac arrest on July 24, after which he was admitted to a local hospital in Clearwood, Florida. Hogan was declared dead at a quarter past 11 in the morning. But newly obtained medical records paint a slightly different story.
As per Page Six, the real-life Terry Bollea died from an acute myocardial infarction, which, in essence, means a heart attack. It was unearthed by the Pinellas County Forensic Science Center, which also discovered that Hogan had previously suffered from atrial fibrillation (AFib). Also, the former world champion had battled leukemia CLL, as mentioned in a medical examiner’s record.

Documents also show that Hogan had a history of chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

The aforementioned Forensic Science Center stated that the manner of Hogan’s demise was natural. A few months ago, when TMZ quoted Bubba The Love Sponge on Terry Bollea’s deteriorating health, a representative for the deceased wrestling icon outright denied any rumors of the latter being on his deathbed. Sponge, a former close friend of the WWE Hall of Famer, had posted enough on social media to make the audience aware of Hogan’s condition.

However, back then, the warning shots from Sponge were dismissed as being fabricated. ‘The Hulkster’ had successful neck surgery earlier this year, and his family was hopeful that he would make it through the aftermath. But unfortunately, he couldn’t. On August 30, the Hogan-founded Real Freestyle Wrestling (RAF) will have its debut show in Cleveland. However, the wrestling great couldn’t live long enough to see that day.
On Thursday afternoon, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issued a memorandum to officially declare August 1 as Hulk Hogan Day in Florida. To honor the Hulkster’s legacy, Mr. Governor directed the flags of the US and Florida to be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and other public properties throughout Pinellas County from sunrise to sunset. It must be noted that Hogan earnestly politicked for Donald Trump’s Republican Party in 2024.
The larger-than-life wrestling figure had even delivered a fiery speech at the RNC last July. Due to his Trump-siding nature, the late WWE icon was even booed during his Raw appearance in Los Angeles earlier this year. ‘The Hulkster’ later admitted that the people of California couldn’t stand his allegiance to the current POTUS, and hence the negative reaction.

‘The Sterling Golden’ was brutally trolled across social media for becoming a laughing stock on national television. The fans dismissed claims of Hogan’s affinity with Trump behind his humiliation by underscoring his racist scandal of 2015 as the actual reason for his public image taking a massive toll. As controversial a human being as Terry Bollea was, his contributions inside the squared circle are undeniable.
WWE held tribute shows to recognize the legacy of Hulk Hogan. It started off with a customary company-wide 10-bell salute on last week’s SmackDown, where Triple H led the WWE roster in mourning Hogan’s loss. Notably, the late Terry Bollea’s son, Nick, was present there.
However, Nick’s sister and Hogan’s daughter, Brooke Oleksy, was absent. She had to clarify on social media that she wasn’t there, as she hadn’t been invited by WWE to partake in the proceedings. For the unversed, Brooke had severed her ties with her family in a step toward mental healing from years of emotional breakdown.

She gave birth to a pair of twins in January that brought some delight into her life. Not that long ago, her mother and Hogan’s ex-wife, Linda Claridge, opened a Pandora’s box on the complex family dynamics of the Hogan household. Brooke would then follow suit by putting forth her side of the story as well.
