EVIL Beats Oiwa to Regain A Block Lead

The King of Darkness rules on top of the A Block once again. EVIL regained A Block leadership by beating Ryohei Oiwa to get to eight points.

By virtue of his victory over Yota Tsuji on day two, he gets first place even though they are tied. On the other hand, Oiwa remains at six points after being overwhelmed by EVIL, Dick Togo, and Don Fale.

Taichi Sends Tsuji A Step Back

Yota Tsuji still had a shot at leading the A Block later on in the show, but Taichi stopped him in his tracks. The Holy Emperor demonstrated remarkable resilience and secured a victory, bringing his score up to six points.

Taichi is tied with NEVER Openweight champion Boltin Oleg and Callum Newman. Tsuji remains with eight points and is still in a good position to qualify for the playoffs.

Uemura Beats Tanahashi for the First Time

Yuya Uemura has wrestled Hiroshi Tanahashi twice before and lost. On day nine of G1 Climax 35, he finally climbed over that mountain to beat The Ace for the first time.

Uemura is now tied at eight points with EVIL and Tsuji, currently in third place, after losing to Tsuji on day three. Tanahashi stays at four points after suffering his fourth loss of the tournament.

Finlay Now with Four

David Finlay finally won another tournament match after losing three straight against NEVER Openweight champion Boltin Oleg. The Rebel now has four points, breathing new life into his mission to win this year’s tournament.

As aforementioned, Oleg remains with six points, tied with Taichi and Callum Newman. This loss is also his second consecutive loss to Finlay in the G1 and their careers.

In the other A Block matchup, United Empire’s Callum Newman earned his fifth and sixth points after overcoming Sanada and his dirty tactics. Sanada is still at four points, now tied with Finlay and Tanahashi.

The tournament rolls on tomorrow with B Block matches on the card, headlined by Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Great O-Khan.
