PAC scheduled for MRI after AEW Dynamite injury

After suffering a legitimate injury last night on AEW Dynamite, PAC is scheduled for an MRI.

Bryan Alvarez reports that PAC is getting an MRI today to assess the injury he suffered against Swerve Strickland on Wednesday’s Dynamite episode. Their match only lasted a few minutes and was cut short after PAC started favoring his right foot. He received medical attention on the floor following a spot where he seemingly got hurt when being powerbombed into the corner, but PAC was able to get back into the ring and take a superkick and Swerve Stomp from Strickland for the finish.

PAC, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta of the Death Riders currently hold the AEW Trios titles. Their next title defense is set to be against The Opps (Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata & Hook), though it remains to be seen whether PAC’s injury will impact those plans. The Opps issued the challenge for a title match last night on Dynamite. A date for the bout has not been announced yet.

Last night’s PAC vs. Strickland match was the first time the two have ever faced each other. Strickland got back on the winning track after his loss to Jon Moxley in the main event of Dynasty, where the returning Young Bucks helped Moxley retain the AEW World Championship.
