  • Fans eagerly await confirmation of long-overdue honor for the legendary tag team.

The next inductees into the WWE Hall of Fame reportedly include a legendary tag team whose induction is long overdue. The Natural Disasters—Earthquake and Typhoon—are rumored to be getting their nod into the class of 2025.

Natural Disasters Finally Getting Their Recognition

As per a report by WrestleVotes, the tag team is set to be announced as the next inductees into this year's Hall of Fame class. They wrote on social media:

As first reported on today’s WrestleVotes Radio, sources indicate a legendary tag team is set to join the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2025—The Natural Disasters, Earthquake & Typhoon. A long-overdue, well-deserved honor for the former WWF Tag Team Champions.

If the report is accurate, the 1990s tag team will join a still-growing list for this year's selections. Tenta (Earthquake) passed away in 2006 and will be inducted posthumously. Set to join Triple H and Michelle McCool, when announced, it will make three official inductions. With so few announcements, more are expected in the coming weeks.

The Natural Disasters Had A Good WWE Run

Both Earthquake and Typhoon had singles runs in WWE (then WWF) before their tag team was formed in 1991. John Tenta once terrorized Hulkamaniacs by crushing Hulk Hogan’s ribs in 1990. He was also well known for squashing Damian (Jake Robert's famous pet python). When he retired from wrestling, he was shown to be a caring family man devoted to providing for his loved ones. Typhoon also had a run as Tugboat and worked alongside Hulk Hogan during his run. After being part of the Natural Disasters duo, he eventually moved on to WCW where he was infamous for his fall on live television as The Shockmaster.

As a tag team, The Natural Disasters quickly became one of the most dominant duos of their era. Both heels and babyfaces -- and for a time managed by Jimmy Hart -- they used their immense size and power to overwhelm opponents. They won the WWF Tag Team Championship in 1992, defeating Money Inc. (Ted DiBiase & IRS) and successfully defending the titles before losing them back three months later. Their partnership lasted 19 months, but their impact on WWE’s tag team division remains significant.

Fans will not question the induction. Ottman, now 68 years old, will accept the honor on behalf of the team, and it shouldn't come as a surprise if Jimmy Hart inducts them.
