Powerhouse Hobbs is making good progress in his injury recovery, but he isn’t ready to return yet. Hobbs underwent surgery to repair his patellar tendon after suffering a significant knee injury during a match on AEW Dynamite this April. He was reportedly backstage at Dynamite in Milwaukee this week, which Tony Khan confirmed while speaking with the wrestling media on Thursday afternoon. When asked about Hobbs’ status, Khan said Hobbs has been at multiple AEW events visiting doctors and getting check-ups. AEW is looking forward to getting Hobbs back soon, though he still needs “some time” to recover. “Will Hobbs has been visiting the doctors,” Khan said. “It’s been several months of Will Hobbs being out. We’re hoping to get him back soon, but I think there’s still some time he needs for the recovery. But Powerhouse Hobbs is a huge part of AEW. He’s been a great champion here in AEW.
