Kimberly P. Mitchell / USA TODAY NETWORK

Global sports and entertainment icon Hulk Hogan has reportedly passed away.

TMZ Sports reported on Thursday that they medics were dispatched to Hogan's home this morning. Operators on the 9-1-1 call stated that they were sent on a report of cardiac arrest.

The report of Hogan's death comes on the heels of a slew of health issues he had been dealing with in recent months. Hogan had reportedly battled through those issues, but the sheer accumulation of issues combined with his age was always going to make normal life a struggle.

Tributes to the wrestling legend have already started pouring in from around the world.

"I Am Absolutely Shocked To Hear About The Passing Of My Close Friend @HulkHogan ! Hulk Has Been By My Side Since We Started In The Wrestling Business. An Incredible Athlete, Talent, Friend, And Father! Our Friendship Has Meant The World To Me. He Was Always There For Me Even When I Didn’t Ask For Him To Be. He Was One Of The First To Visit Me When I Was In The Hospital With A 2% Chance Of Living, And He Prayed By My Bedside. Hulk Also Lent Me Money When Reid Was Sick. Hulkster, No One Will Ever Compare To You! Rest In Peace My Friend!" wrestling legend Ric Flair wrote on X a few minutes ago.

"WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away. One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans," WWE said in their own statement.

"It's impossible to post anything else after the news of Hulk Hogan passing away. The truth is, despite a very difficult few years recently which I also found hard, without Hogan, wrestling as we know today doesn't exist. One of the OG game-changers. Reading the news hit me in a way I can't really explain. Thoughts with his friends and family. There will never be another," another user wrote.

Hogan's impact on sports and entertainment culture is scarcely matched. While opinions on Hogan have changed in the years since his wrestling career ended, it's hard to deny he's on the Mount Rushmore of Professional Wrestling.
